Yes. You are right. I covered up my eye with a no. 24 standard modesty panel for ocular devices, otherwise known as an "eye bra" and I can see air quite clearly. It's totally black when you get a good look at it. This is a drawback for normal vision as everything else within the air becomes invisible and then I bump into things.

If dust storms are bothering you in Texas you could move to Maine where they are far less frequent, completely white and non-abrasive.

BTW .. There is a certain type of criminal who only robs places during extreme weather. They break into places during rain storms and rob banks during hurricanes and dust storms. Details like getaways are more difficult but the difficulties for law enforcement and identification are compounded as well. Officer to teller: "What did the the dust storm bandit look like? Teller: "He was wearing a mask, anyway I couldn't see anything at all and I was having difficulty breathing." Officer: "What sort of vehicle were they driving and which way did they go? Teller: "I couldn't see that far. He just stepped out of the bank and disappeared in a cloud of dust."
