Just checking for numbers, Scott. Is this true:
about 19,000 Enron employees worldwide.
about 4,500 Enron employees laid off so far.

So much is being made of the employees who have lost all their retirement. Two questions:

1) How many people, lost how much ACTUAL money put into their IRA....

. i.e. If one put $10,000 over 5 years to purchase options, and the value of the stock appreciated to (pick a number)...$80.... Did the person loose the $10,000, or the estimated value of what it WOULD have been....if....

and
2) If the employees were "encouraged to buy stock" by company officials.....WHY on earth did they if they had any brain if they could see that at the same time they bought stock, the heads of the company were selling millions of dollars worth of stock.

Could the employees not read....? Did their broker not tell them?

Did the heads of ENRON say their company was going to be a "Trillion Dollar" company....so not to worry....

hummmmmmmmmmmm....seems as if I have heard that before....wonder where???
