Used to be that CEOs' top priority was to grow their business. Now their top priority is to grow their own compensation. As Mr. Duray pointed out within the past hour:

"According to Business Week, the average CEO made 42 times the average blue-collar worker’s pay in 1980, 85 times in 1990 and a staggering 531 times in 2000."

That's what makes GWB's economic stimulus plan so obscene: All it does is give Big Business hundreds of billions of dollars to increase executive compensation, close more U.S. plants and send more jobs overseas.

There was a time when one could give Company X $1 million and the CEO of Company X would use the money to grow the business and provide jobs.

Ain't true anymore. I've seen too much first-hand.
