that's my problem - I can't do much in my IRA either.
I checked about profunds - commissions are way too much for moving in and out -
They've got all the bases covered so one can only be a LTBH'er - ng

fido allows you to long call and put in ira. basically you can do most everything except short call and short put - that is understandable in an ira.

Challo: You can short the QQQs by buying put options on the QQQ'a...or, for a particular stock you want to short you can buy a put option. I don't know your trading style; if you day trade or swing trade, but give strong consideration to puts that are in-the-money...so that the option will move point for point with the underlying stock. You do not need a margin account nor the onerous 25k minimum imposed on "Pattern Day Traders." He's a "PATTERN DAY TRADER!"...almost as bad as being called a Pattern Child Molester.

Is there any consensus about which is "better", Rydex or Pro-funds?

I know Don uses Pro-funds - anyone know why?
