Blow Boy - Re: "AMD's 15 watt SOI 1400+ will be the only part available for that market in Q3 and Q4 of this year (low voltage PIIIs would fit in the boxes, but sub 1GHZ parts won't fit the bill for "high end" in the second half of this year."

Another laugher !!

MAD's 1300 MHz Mobile AThWiper has been out for almost two months - and no OEMs are using it.

Dream on, Monica !

Blow It Out Your Wazoo Dan - Re: "AMD with $1.5 Billion to $2 Billion in quarterly revenue could "

Bob Rivet just said - TODAY - that MAD will be losing money this quarter on only $900 million in revenue.

Looks like you're about 1.5X to 2X off in your dreams.

Sorry to break the news to you.

Dan, you make things sound too rosy. First, OEMs don't like to jump ship every quarter. If Intel is enticing them with some cool Banias chips for '03 what makes you think that they'll build and validate and sell A4 1400+ platforms for 2 quarters and then switch build and validate Banias platforms. I think the name of the game is consistency. Whoever can stay on top of the performance curve for > 3 quarters in a row will have majoe OEM design wins. Anything shorter than that and the OEMs will stick with what they have.
