Alan - whether Iraq is a direct exporter or not - world oil supply is world oil supply. FWIW, the one forum I've been keeping a keen eye on is the Calpine thread. Domestic electrical generation is going to be key - if there's ever going to be another bull market.

I'm hoping I can find some pr on some proposals for new nuke generation. Methinks the day of nose bleed "Hubbard's Peak" energy prices will never happen. But would I go short? Not a chance...

Regards
Frank P.

Alan,
Your points are understood here on SDII and you need fear no abuse. Only small bodied K9's that come in yammering and nipping at bare ankles get abused, ggg.

As for the energy sector, this seems to be a situation where the Technical Analysis is indicating a deficit in our understanding of the Fundamental Analysis, hence the energy sector is doing well, despite the evidence of drilling reports and inventories and etc.

When FA and TA conflict, I go with the TA and if the FA is fatal, then the TA usually gets me out in time.

And from experience in the gold sector I might add that the best moves are those without any supporting news at the time.

BTW, Welcome to the thread!

Best Regards,

Roebear

I think Granada is of stratigic importance for the panama canal, afghanastan is our foot in the door for gas and oil in central asia, and to be cynical ,kosovo was good public relations with the muslim(oil producing) world(we dont just protect jews and wasps).

Don't know anymore, have not kept up with the statistics, but as of what I used to read a year and more ago, IRAQ oil was indeed exported to the US.

I used to think this was a peculiar situation, we bomb them, then buy their oil.

Check the old SD thread in the above time frame and earlier for confirmation.
