They get it. They understand the threat that exists here and what we need to do. But I'm biased, I don't live in sheltered world like you obviously do - I had a good friend killed in the North Tower that day. He was a good & honest guy, providing for his family, regularly donating time & money to charity, and ironically very personally concerned about kids in the Middle East. He was trapped on a floor above the impact zone and made 5-6 desperate telephone calls before going silent. Before dying he likely experienced his skin melting from the fire's high temperature, maybe he got lucky and passed out before that. Whatever. My point is that this is very real and personal for thousands of people. And if they could have killed 3 million that day instead of 3,000 - they would have because they desperately want to. You or your family could be next if the 300-some detainees currently held are released. Maybe after you've experienced life and ventured outside of Northern California you'll understand that for whatever reason, a large part of the Arab world hates us and that some of them are intent on destroying us, our freedom and way of life. The WTC symbolized our freedom, capitalism and hard worked. They, as representatives of their closed and less-developed culture had to attack it in the only way they could - using our system to sneak up and wreck it while we were trusting, busy working and creating. Now everything has changed. Lead by the current adminstration, we now understand that the only rule is that there are no rules when it comes to dealing with these people. But you whin that Bush is pushing too hard, shaming us through realistic, protective action & measures? If you want to survive long enough to pass on your genes you should get a clue. History is full of naive, tragic individuals like yourself. "
