David McCullough's take on Tom Paine

About 28 years ago, I took a course called,

"Tom Paine, the American Revolution, and your Freedom",

which really radicalized me on the subject. His pamphlet, "Common Sense", caused the Revolution. It was a "revolt" until that came out. He wrote the first draft of "The Declaration of Independence" and had Jefferson take credit. I consider him the real "Father of our country."

If you think I am out of my gourd, read Tom Paine, read Tom Jefferson, and then read the original draft of "The Declaration of Independence". The authorship is obvious.
