It was CLCX at $2 before they went bankrupt. Maybe I should try again to see if I can still short below $5. Maybe it was a glitch at that time since I haven't tried to do any more since then below 5. I may actually give Datek a call Monday and see what they say about shorting below $5. I also wonder if their different client status has anything to do with it too.

Just a for a quick test I just went into Datek and I put an order to short 5000 shares of CORV at $1.20, and the system took it. My order was a GTC order. I think as long as you have marginable equity, Datek allows it. I'll call them Monday and ask for details, but from what I see, no problem in shorting stocks under $5 with Datek.
