No one really believes that farm machinery is the growth industry of the 21st century.

"Meanwhile, the Morgan Stanley Cyclical Index pedaled to a new seven-month high. This is a group largely made up of boring but safe widget makers, the sort described by UBS Warburg trading guru Art Cashin as "80-year-old companies with 80-year-old auditors." They were February's flavor of the month on Wall Street, limiting the fallout from the tech implosion and accounting follies.

The question is whether these aging heavies are now expendable.

No one really believes that farm machinery is the growth industry of the 21st century. What's really growing is the likelihood that an industrial recovery is already reflected in the share prices. This seems likely to cap the sector's current rally, and soon."
