I think the reporter is showing his age. I have a 22 year old son, in college, who works part time in a record store. He doesn't know who Yoko Ono is. He knows that the Beatles were a popular band when I was young, and has heard some of their music. He might guess that Linda McCartney was Paul's wife but only because Paul still performs and was on the Super Bowl.

Yoko Ono has about as much relevance to today's kids as the singers in Glen Miller's band had for me. Which is to say, not much.

You could guess that a girl without much of a formal education is no rocket scientist.

Maybe she's not a rocket scientist but she is an expert at semiconductor physics
