Franq. Looking at a $99/mo cable bill as of Feb as Cable modem jumped from $39 to $49 and extended cable jumped apx $13/mo too. Pissed, but I can't buy these services for less elsewhere ---YET.

I'd guess it's the same for most serious data users. That's my point - most data users are already subscribed - nobody else cares about data, only compelling applications. BTW you should really shop your voice services - you should be able to get a lot cheaper. a neat product, but I haven't seen any market data You'll see it when it's too late to do anything about it. Look for many announcements this year about broad commercial WLAN deployments. What's that got to do with the price of eggs? I was told royalties were a function of handset prices. The cost of producing handsets (and consequently related royalties) are direct related to the price of the handset - everywhere I look they're giving them away, which from the SP's POV would suggest they're written off at cost. That's a compelling argument for a collapse in the average price of handsets and cdma royalties. Can anyone tell me whether Qualcomm has licensed (or cross-licensed) TD-SCDMA from the Chinese government. I'm hearing whispers that it will be THE standard in China. Is that good news for QCOM? Rob
