in general, QCOM tends to trade like the QQQ (though obviously sometimes more extreme one way or the other). so it is not surprising to see QCOM rally while the QQQ rallies, both today and friday.

i don't see what ORCL has to do with QCOM in particular. ORCL should affect software cos more than QCOM.

ORCL pulled the old trick of releasing bad news after the close friday ahead of the weekend. however, it was quite bizzarre the way ORCL traded down large friday on huge volume (before the bad news was released) while the NDX rallied like crazy. and then they just happened to release bad news after the close. a coincidence, i am sure.

but it has not helped ORCL much today, although the rest of the NDX seems to be doing great.
