As long as Hammer's introduction is more timely than Palomino or Thoroughbred, then AMD will be ok. What they need is something like the first Athlon launch, which had volumes pretty close to the launch time. Of course, it looks like nearly all of AMD is working on the Hammer project, so maybe they have the thrust they need for a Q4 official launch. I'm not holding my breath, though. ;-) wbmw

What are you seeing? >> Most analysts are prevention. They talk about the u.S. Market, they talk about amd and the consumer space. The realities are, we have more than 20% world market share and we have our highest market share in small and medium business, which is doing pretty well, especially globally. How important is it for your business? >> The hammer is absolutely the holy grail for amd. We have been in the microprocessor business for over 25 years, and we're always being told we're catching up with intel. Well, the athlon xp we passed intel, highest performance pc processor in the world. We still don't have the full range rf products to cover the server market and the highest end servers. With hammer, we have an answer to everything. We have a 64-bit processor in the hammer family, that runs 32 bit code faster than anything on the planet. And you get 64 bits for free. So the hammer is what's going to transform amd from a number two to over the next decade, number one, maria. Maria: Number one, harsh words there for your competitor. Let me ask you about pricing.
