I suppose this could also have some upside or at least provide a differentiating feature for a business. Customers would be less likely to shoot themselves in the foot with too little memory -- and most OEMs charge a hefty premium on memory. Perhaps Micron will sign on the TPI? <g>

From a business perspective, this could be a little rough. You would have to have benchmark data on all the possible combinations of components which influence performance. And each time one component option changed another round of benchmarks. Perhaps a better business idea for a preferably third-party benchmark testing company.
