I can't believe that pedophilia is present only in our society. I've seen a couple of priests discussing how this might have developed. One was saying that priests start training when they are young and inexperienced, they don't know what to do with their urges, and there's nothing in the institution to help them get past that. If that's the case, it might be that priests are brought into the fold differently in other countries so the problem didn't develop. We don't know why they do it so we don't know if those same conditions are in place in the Church in other countries. The church hierarchy in other countries might have dealt better with the problem.
