Hmmm...

CB have you noticed that this attempt by the Longs to "take back" the thread, appears to coincide with the overall move of the semiconductor group. It appears that Mom & Pop are taking matters into their own hands by trying to strangle the Bear with one hand tied behind their backs. I suspect that the first round of Tax refunds is burning a hole in too many pockets.<g>

Barring significant new terror attacks this year, Mom & Popdom is primed for more "Running of the Bulls." At the first sign of 15% annualized growth in sales we are going to have bubble mania all over again.<vbg>

It will be most instructive to witness whether or not RMBS can get the Mom & Pop Fund Managers to join their individual cousins for one more ride on the Multiplexed Line. Personally, I don't see how they are going to get the big money types to come back. I'm guessing it would require an i4 chipset out of Sis, or someone, before dual channel DDR hits the market in strength. I don't see how Sis could bring such a chipset out before the 4th Qtr and more likely 2003, if at all.

In any case it seems to me that both i4 and its chipset would have to be out there getting design wins now to have a chance at winning back the lost mind share. ...Not to mention switching to industry "Butt Kissing" mode which they haven't even begun as best I can tell.
