Thanks for your response on my question on the details of how spectrum gets allocated during an overlay process.
It seems to me that this product, GSM1x, will be something that China may find much more interesting than Europe will, at least for awhile.

Now, if China were to do such a thing, and completely overlay its existing GSM network with GSM1x, would there be any down sides related to continuing to use the heritage GSM MAP network, rather than something else?
