I'm glad you aren't the Governor of California.

Ray, we agree about AB 1890. That was the genesis of this whle debacle. Wilson and the Democratic Legislators got wined and dined and their coffers filled while letting the foxes write the legislation. The bill passed with very little dissent. Where were all the elected officials who claimed to be champions of the little guys? You can't just blame the corrupting power of corporate money without also damning the CORRUPTED! I expect corporations to try everything they can to better their positions. And I'm all for jailing those who break the law. (Make sure I get an invite to Ken Lay's BBQ, will ya?)

I believe Govenor Davis was put into a tough spot but his and your attempt to put this all in the lap of George Bush is, IMO flawed. Sure he is backed by big energy which was to ply it;s racket. Davis is backed by big labor that wants to see Porkfest 2002 highway projects and all other manner of publification (my word) <g> for their own benefit.

My critcism of Davis lies in that instead of going after Edison and it's parent, he signed long term deals at the height of the market and passed along the cost to me, effectively taking Edison off the hook!!!

Now me and everyone else here has to pay for both the generators greed and Davis's stupidity and perhaps complicity with Edison because he appears to have been in their pockets.

I say "a pox on them all".

A BIG P.S.! Most of us found reducing energy consumption by 20% or better to be no problem at all. I cut my bill in my stores by 25% and my home by half. Only problem is even with the savings I still pay more.

How you can blame any of this on Davis blows my mind.
D. follows the Bush family motto "But it wasn't my fault".
