<<keep the populace alarmed—and thus clamorous to be led to safety—by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." — H.L. Mencken>>

The Russians are Coming! and the nuclear hecatomb, footed the bill nicely. Now it is becoming hard and harder to find a boogey man!

911 is -for now- keeping people in their tiptoes. I wonder what can be next.

I think it can be of economic and foreign origins:

Create artificial shortages. We have already this one with the oil shock in the 70s when the world was "running out oil", remember?

Brazil and California had fabricated blackouts last semester.

Australia already has this images of lots of SE Asians in boating landing at its shore.

Germany had the Turkish -in the 80s- as a tool to worry J6P.

The US - in name of "security" is barring foreign IT people for "defense" related contracts.

I am expecting an El Nino related catastrophism in the making. TV is already saying temperature of the Pacific Ocean is rising.

This El Nino thing is a good one: Lots of scientists lobbying for more money for research jumping in.

Greenpeace weirdoes, Sierra Club and other "freeze the world" types will have a field day!

Come on! get out of the tape library those images of Somalia starving families CNN!*

I LOVE TO KNOW HOW THE WORLD WORKS!!!

* By the way the Somalia starving people are victms of political-induced famine. Just in case you don't know. That's not lack of food.
