I resent your saying that I tried "to manufacture facts." Calling me a liar is a gratuitous, mean, ugly, nasty response to my having written this:

You are a friend of both Poet's and CH's, recently, and clearly have an idea of how things could be handled more sensitively than those who've been trying hard to mediate have done. If you offer to handle this in a better way, I suspect both Poet and CH would be grateful. I would be.

Note the "recently."

That is what, out of our exchange of today, you focus on?

I saw many friendly exchanges between you and CH. I felt a sympathy coming from you to him. You talked kindly, nicely, in a friendly way to him, and he to you. Surely it was not "manufacturing" facts to conclude that, certainly sufficiently to the purpose of being an appropriate mediator, you were a "friend" of both parties.

So: I hereby note and object to that nasty crack. I wonder if you feel you made it because I am a liar, because you were dragged down into bad behavior through no fault of your own but because others made you, or because you just had a relapse into your former pleasure in nastiness. It is not because of a love of accurate description.

IMO you don't get to be nasty and also to be sanctimonious and bitter over what you see as the niceness-shortcomings of others.
