The recession is over from the perspective of job and GDP numbers that have been tampered with. This is not an opinion, the real numbers are also published by the various govt depts but the ignorance factor comes in when people accept the manipulated number as fact.

And that process is not unique to your country so there is nothing "American" as you put it about that ignorance.
