Who are the #1 seeds?

Conventional wisdom says Duke in the Southeast, Kansas in the Midwest, Maryland in the East and Oklahoma in the West. And it's almost difficult to argue with those selections. Almost, but not quite...

I think an excellent case can be made to demote Maryland to a #2 seed, and bump Cincinnati up to #1 in the East. The Bearcats won their tournament handily, and faced some good competition in doing so. Maryland failed to get to the "Blue Devils versus Terrapins", Version 3.0 as had been "scripted" by most sportswriters. Maryland's loss was to North Carolina State, a team that the Terps should have easily beaten. Maryland also has earlier losses to Duke and Arizona, two teams that might very well be in the Final Four this year. I say, Cincinnati deserves the fourth #1 seed, despite all of the Maryland hype...
