OT. Yes Roebear that article was interesting, very interesting.

I've spent a lot of time collecting various types of technical data, utilizing sophisticated instruments and analyis methods. Based on my experience I have not really formulated a strong opinion on global warming, as it is data gathering and evaluation nightmare (at least I would think so).

However, after reading this article one might be less inclined to dismiss the global warming trend as something perpetrated solely by the liberal environmentalists. That is if one was inclined to do so in the first place.

After all a 40% decrease in the polar ice cap by volume, since 1970, is no small amount. The amount of energy involved in this conversion is certainly not minimal. It is implied by the article that this data comes from the US Navy.

I've yet to experience a warm summer here, but hopefully one is not far off. Even a mild winter in this country makes one yearn for a warm day or two, or three ..... come summer.
