>The speculation I made back then does still hold - If Hammer is a huge success, AMD has access to a partially completed new FAB in Oregon that was designed to start production at .13 on 300mm wafers. They could ramp Gresham a lot sooner than the planned AU FAB, it Hammer did spectacularly well (meaning AMD could afford it).<

I can find no indication that the Gresham fab can easily be converted over to processor production. The Gresham fab was intended for Flash production, and Flash fabs typically have only a fraction of the cleanroom space of processor fabs. Sure Gresham could probably be used to produce processors, but the limited cleanroom space would probably mean that only about of a third of the floor space could be equipped if this were done.

Blow Boy Dan - re: "At the time that post was made, the reports were that AMD had gained control of the FAB when it started making payments on it."

But you didn't say that.

You claimed AMD OWNED THE FAB

Just like all your other claims - lies and misrepresentations.

Blow Boy Liar Dan - Re: "AMD has access to a partially completed new FAB in Oregon that was designed to start production at .13 on 300mm wafers. "

You just keep slinging the lies and BULLSH!T !!!

There is NO 300 MM FUJITSU FAB in Oregon !@!@

The Oregon fab was built in 1988 - as a DRAM fab - and converted over recently to flash.

It's an old fab - essentially OBSOLETE - that's why FUJITSU DUMPED IT OUTRIGHT - SHUT IT DOWN !

The only 300 MM activity is IN YOUR DELUSIONAL MIND !
