That might be true (although I have my doubt how many of them really know about Dresden and AMD) but nationalistic bias has no role at all in this poll. I am absolutely sure about this since I live here. ;) Germans are extremely un-nationalistic -- not to surprising when you know our history and where it led to.

BTW, I didn't read this thread from the start but I think the original point was why the readers voted for the Athlon XP as the best processor. That's IMO isn't surprising at all. Computer geeks always prefers Athlons over P4s (although this is slowly changing as P4 is ramping higher and leaving the XP somewhat behind). The relevance of this poll is probably the same as the recent THG award for AMD.

Ten, there is probably a German protective tariff that favors the mad processor and hurts intel's.
