Good post PS, but I wonder why you think the VIX range which is approx 5 years old is changing?

The underlying OEX still looks pretty volatile to me.

PS - (1st post)The market might very well get nervous in the short term. But that has nothing to do with the VIX or "The Cycle Guy" it has if anything todo with the VP discussing the forthcoming and long overdue military action against Iraq.

It probably didn't seem so imminent last week but the joint appearances with the Prime Minister and the rhetoric of the joint press conferences has now left no-one in any doubt that the action is on. The oil price is reasting and that is going to give the market a very good reason to get nervous. Nothing to do with any previous historic indicator whatsover.

As for "The Cycle Guy" maybe he works for the Pentagon!
