The last question of the call asked about CDMA....

Sounds like they are seeing an impact from the lack of a 1x handset. Still expect to launch one by the end of the second quarter.

<< Did I hear it right? EDGE >>

I missed any reference to that ..... other than comments on convergence in US that was allowing them to play in US sandbox on larger scale than prior.

Whew. Conference was shoooooooort, relatively uninformative, and there sure wasn't much upbeat.

CDMA 1x phone (later) ... still wondering if there will be a CTIA release.

If not ... there is a problem. they are definitely down this quarter on CDMA.

Any discussion about infra financing deals? I'm a little surprised that the infra is not selling as well as one would think despite generous (150% in some cases) financing.

EDGE

Ques (strange wording, low audio hard to follow)
You are saying you in infra side, you are seeing from Europe and China are you continuing to see strength in North America market infrastructure as well as anyplace else that are also doing well

Ans

As far as we are concerned, obviously, you will recall, as a company, we have been, we have not been a major player in the North American markets until the technology convergence that is happening now, IE, some important US carriers are moving from TDMA to GSM-EDGE. And, in our case that is ATT wireless and Cingular and for us it totally incremental sales in comparison to earlier years. And then our business has proceeded as planed.

Ques (hard to follow)
And how strong are you counting on EDGE in the North American markets with respect to EDGE current

Ans

Well, the European markets and the North American markets are following a little bit different pattern from here for many reasons. Partly historical reasons, partly spectrum reasons, the availability of spectrum reasons and I would not like too much to discuss what EDGE is relevant in Europe. That is possible but the European market has really gone a different route. IE, has taken up and will deploy UMTS, IE Wide band CDMA

CDMA

Que
I was wondering if you could comment on the trends you are seeing so far in the quarter in the CDMA market and how you are seeing new products developing in CDMA. And maybe touch on the inventory issues in CDMA.

ANS
Well I think our performance here, when it comes to the market place I really think the comment about channel inventory we in the early part of the years remains partly in some extent mainly in the US. And I made some comments earlier about that so I cannot really pinpoint a specific development in CDMA in general. Our performance has definitely been impacted by the fact that we will be introducing our 1x phone only later and obviously and then the introduction of that phone will give us the possibility to continue to pull our strategy to continue to gain market share in CDMA in the US.
