I don't think it's possible for people who have a brain and know how to use it and who have been exposed to a variety of ideas and people and places to be closed-minded or intolerant. Or jingoistic. LOL, even better. So are those - for example, Senators - who demonstrate all three lacking in brains, refusing to use them or merely ignorant...? There are certainly educated and (reportedly) intelligent leftists who demonstrate the same intolerance and lack of realism, though it may just be naivety: the perennial student Marxists, for example, and similar. Jingoism seems rarer.
