Thanks for bursting my bubble:) I always thought that my family was far enough away from any major targets that they would survive the blast. The radius on the 25 megaton is huge...

I guess that I can still hope that only a 1 megaton nuke is used.

If a bomb went off how would one protect themselves if they were in the outer areas? How does one protect against thermal radiation?
