"Karen deems thames- sider a great wit? (Asswipes? c'mon, Karen)."

Karen has a history of close friendship and affection for lefties. I have come to believe that she may have actually lived among the primitive boors at some time in her life...possibly even raised by the beasts. In any event she prefers to keep this affiliation as a petite mystery.

I can think of many many occasions in which people have violated the TOU (most recently the rules against blackmail and threatening, for example) and have not been sanctioned. You, jla, karen, thames and I have all been here long enough to know that enforcement is uneven.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well, Neo. Do have patience with yourself and take some time to rest.

I do not think I have ever seen JLA say anything more offensive or obscene than the material quoted from thames- sider.

Me neither.

I assumed that you'd been sleeping it off, but if you've been reading, you saw my comment about the relative mildness of what got JLA the boot. I'd say that TS's expression is sometimes on a par with with the worst of Laz--in other words, tasteless and puerile. I imagine that the reason some get booted and others don't is no-harm-no-foul--no one complains. I really don't like course language--"asswipes" is particularly unattractive--but I recognize that it goes with the territory and I read right over most of it.

And how is it that JLA is supposed to be a partisan twit

I couldn't have called JLA a partisan twit. I don't see him as a twit. I've simply said that he has a partisan view of things, as do the majority of people. (To his credit, he makes the occasional exception.)

Karen deems thames- sider a great wit?

He has his moments, IMO. Not all the time, as evidenced by the clips that Michael cited, but usually he's terribly witty and clever. And charming. Ask any of the women... <g>

Karen

The obscenity is in allowing Ashcroft to ride roughshod over your constitution.
As for Bush: I can live with incompetence in politicians, I expect them to lie, and they don't have to be the brightest flames in the fire. But combine all three, couple with idle-rich smugness and intolerance of a kind which is now laughable even in our supposedly class-ridden nation, and the sheer hypocrisy of his stance as a man of and for the 'people', when so many of his policies are so clearly designed to benefit only a few of the richest and greediest - i.e., his own circle... expect vitriol in return.

Of course, I have to speak down to Milliwit, since I seem to lose him if I use reason, intelligence, or polysyllables.

But it's gratifying to know what you think of me. I'm so deeply hurt I could... well, almost summon the effort to reply in kind, if I had ever contemplated the matter.
