It seems to me that the distinction between going after people because they're evil and going after them to protect ourselves--is it about them or is it about us--is it about morality or protection--is pretty obvious. You hooked on to a peripheral religious element apparently because you don't want to see a religion demonized. I understand that, but it's a different matter. I think that my approach would suit your purposes but you have THEIR MORALITY on the brain rather that OUR SELF-INTEREST. If we leave morality/evil out of it, then it's easier to leave a clash of religious traditions out of it. Karen
