My problem is that I am too stupid to know when to give up.

But I am more interested in you, though.

You used to be a big contributor to both SI and IH. You were high strung on message boards. You clearly still are, just with a different motive, or you woudln't be here.

I guess my question is, why would you be going around warning everybody that we are all going down in flames because we can't make any money? I just don't get it. I mean, you have put a lot of effort into pointing out that we can't make any money in this thing. Basically your entire most recent posting history at SI.

OK, we understand your point of view. We just disagree. So what is really going on here? I'm just curious. Most people state their view and sit back and wait for it to happen. You seem to keep pressing the issue as if you are starting a competiting site. I doubt you are doing that though. You can't make any money running a message board.

I have asked you to show me "A" message board that makes money.

What part of "I can't" seems to be causing you the most confusion?

I'm still waiting for you or Fat to show me the PL of a message board that turns a profit.

Please tell me you're holding your breath while you're waiting.

Even if/when Investors Hub turns a profit, you won't be shown the PL.

So, in light of my inability to show you a profitable message board, does that mean I'm stupid to be in the message board business? So be it. I'm stupid. And very happy with what I do for a living now. That means something to me.

BTW, just because I can't show you the financials of a profitable message board doesn't mean they don't exist. There are MANY that I suspect are doing quite well. And all of them are private companies and I'm sure if you or I asked for a peek at the books, we'd be invited to take a long run on a short pier.

Can we start with YAAAHOOO....and their money pool. They lose money each day as does INSP.

Are they message board companies? Sure, they both run message boards, but is that all they do? Seems to me AOL runs message boards, too.

Do YHOO and INSP segregate their message board income from the rest of their income? Can you prove to me that Silicon Investor loses money? It's not incumbent on me to prove that they make money. I didn't say they do or don't or can't. You're the one that said a message board cannot make money. It's you who should prove they lose money.

You and Matt are using this forum to attract "Investors"?

In the same context that Silicon "Investor" uses the word "Investor" in its name, yes.

If you're saying that I'm trying to secure funding for Investors Hub, then you're mistaken. I don't want anyone's money because:

1. I don't need it.
2. I don't want to give up control.
3. I don't want to give up profits.

I can and will get very specific if you would like. I don't need this silly forum to do so.

I have no idea what that pair of sentences is supposed to mean. If not "this silly forum", then where?

I know how a programmer makes money.

Wow! You're so wise!

Now, can you tell me how a carpenter makes money?

Have a nice evening

I spend my days working hard, doing something I love, and making an honest living. Makes for plenty of nice evenings.

My finacial hell is being $$worth more than you and all of your cronies....Reid >>

And that's relevant in what way?

My goal isn't to be as rich as you. My goal is to spend my remaining working years doing what I love most.

Not that I think you're rich. I haven't seen your personal financials, so by your logic, you're broke. Sorry to be the bearer of that news.

The real measure of your wealth is how much you'd be worth if you lost all your money. I have to go rotate the canned goods in my pantry right now, but when I get back, maybe I'll be impressed.
