There are no shades of grey with the muslims. Either you are a muslim and you live, or you're not, and you die.
I'm not the one that is saying these things, they are.
I believe they mean what they say. I don't believe that you can compromise with them because they don't allow compromise as a basic tenet of their beliefs. For them to believe otherwise, they have to reject islam.

I happen to work with 100's of Muslims from all over the world, Stuffed into one of the most prejudice states (Id) of the nation. They are hard working folks who are delighted to be in the US to make a better life for their families. Shortly after 9-11, I offered my home as a "safe house" to many, if they felt the need. They are not the fanatic's bred by OBL, the Sudanese or other wacked out factions of the Muslim world.
So the realist says deport all illegals, do we deport all Muslims here on work visa's and the ones that have become US citizens? What about the Chinese, Korean's, Japanese, Europeans here on work or visit visa's? Where do we stop. As a white male with 2 adopted black kids... Where the FARK does the realist stop?

I also see evidence that a lot of otherwise sane people are starting to buy into the premise that Islam is somehow inherently evil. As a generally tolerant society, we must fight for understanding and resist the black and white answers.

Can you blame people?

9/11 was done in the name of Allah by Muslim fundamentalists. This is the legacy that OBL and his gang of thugs have left the world, and it is up to Muslims, not me, to improve their incredibly tarnished image.

I don't see much evidence that Islam is gaining converts. I don't hear people say, "Gee I want to become a Muslim, I just love what they stand for."

If Muslims want to be understood and accepted they are doing a lousy job of selling themselves. Is it because their goals are not to be understood or accepted, but rather obeyed?
