abraham lincoln said it best yep he was one of the USA's best. Running an empire is not all what it's up to be. It's like being the CEO of a major multinational company. You have to be a total bastard yet at the same time take all peoples interests in to account while making decisions. It's a tough game and the British people were not really up to subjugating large portions of the worlds population. They liked them too much. Hence we lost our Empire. Some power mad guys at the top played the game as hard as they could but lost eventually. Here is a post of mine on the subject. Message 16637972
