My experience with people that legally pack is that their only interest is in saving their life, not getting a better parking place.

Law enforcement in states that have concealed carry laws that allow qualified citizens permits on a "shall issue" (not arbitrary) basis do not report a problem. These citizens have been tested on safety, are range tested for ability and have no criminal record.

Bad guys carry even though they carry without permission. I remember going to the hearing about having a concealed permit in Illinois. It was voted down in committee by one vote. The guy who killed it said it would be unfair to muggers and rapists. No shit, I sat there and heard that crap.

It's not like everyone has to carry a gun, just give them the right. A mugger then wouldn't know who was carrying and who wasn't.
