I can't tell you how much better I feel to know that a Catholic priest using his standing and power to seduce, say, a fourteen year old isn't a crime as bad as pedophilia

I think the point of that is not that one crime is not as bad as another but that they come from different places. The main point I was trying to make in the earlier discussions was that some priest/child contact was a function of pedophilia and some was a function of homosexuality and that not all priests who had sexual contact with boys are necessarily gay. I'm pleased to have the Globe say so, too.
