Handguns, nukes, chemical weapons, biological weapons share one common theme: they are specifically designed to kill human beings. Their effectiveness is measured by their lethalness. Planes, pools, etc have other uses. However, if we discovered that a specific product was killing people, we would take it off the market. For some reason, two products that kill are still legal: guns and tobacco. Why? Powerful lobbies backed by money and fanatical, misguided freedom zealots. Guns kill effectively, and increase the killing power of a deranged person or criminal. Guns DO kill people, and more people would be alive today if they were to disappear.
