Well, that's what the sales guy said about it eating batteries. That's why I bought the reader to transfer the pics. It's a 318, and it takes four batteries. I didn't have it on for more than 5 minutes elapsed time. So if it chewed through four already, sckrew that! I just posted over there. I'll see if anyone wants to offer any assistance. EDIT: The guy did mention it took rechargables too and if I find myself using it thaat much I'll invest the extra few bucks for a recharger and batteries.
