It is to the low cost "flat rate" US carriers like Leap Wireless, Amica,. The other large market for the NOK handset is CDMA Operators in Latin America! The same operators that want a chip from QCOM that will yield a "sub-$100" voice-only UT! NOK's current lower priced handsets have found a home in the "voice only market". And I expect that to continue for some time. So if they developed a "Voice Only" 1X Asic, that means that is what their current customer base has requested!! In the mean time.
