re: 1X Cubed - NOK CAN'T DO DATA

I don't think they really need it at this juncture.

If you see where NOK sells most of their CDMA models. It is to the low cost "flat rate" US carriers like Leap Wireless, Amica,. The other large market for the NOK handset is CDMA Operators in Latin America!

The same operators that want a chip from QCOM that will yield a "sub-$100" voice-only UT! NOK's current lower priced handsets have found a home in the "voice only market". And I expect that to continue for some time. So if they developed a "Voice Only" 1X Asic, that means that is what their current customer base has requested!! In the mean time. Those NOK/MOT low end 95B phones are going to be getting cheap!

1X Cubed - NOK CAN'T DO DATA

I'm confused. Doesn't the definition of 1X mean that it must do data? Can a phone not do data and still be 1X?
