Bill I have no problem with different interest having equal rights for lobbying (I may have something against the total procedure) All tools that are available to Jewish interest groups are just as available to Palestinian interest groups re: the Jews win because our spirits are with them and the politicians know this, as do the news editors. If that is what jewish-influenced means than I am ready to apologize. My understanding of jewish-influenced is completely different. as far as the rest, wars are never good yet they were fought all the time. Both Palestinians and Israeli's want peace but because of the few radical groups it is almost impossible to achieve. Regards -Albert

Also, the Jews historically have been bankers, and store owners, and thus place a lot of advertising in the newspapers; in addition to the Jewish owners and editors of some media outlets. My comments with Gottfried via PM made me understand that his intention was not a dark intention.<<<<<<< I am with Albert on this one. It certainly sounded like he had dark intentions. Not because of he used the word Jew, but rather his usage of the word Jew as an adjective, as in all newspapers are Jewish controlled. This connotates all newspapers giving a Jewish slant to the news, which is bad for you, much as Hitler said in Germany. What Gottfried seems to be saying is that our Israeli policy is dictated by our Jewish controlled lobbyists bribing congress and media influencing public opinion; otherwise we would be pro Palestine in our dealings with the middle east. Yes the Palestinians have been used as pawns by the Arabs who could have easily integrated them into their societies over the past 50 years. The net result has been a huge amount of $$ wasted on guns and ammo.<<<< Agreed. That is probably the main reason Arafat can't deliver a peace plan, because outside countries, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, all contribute money to Hamas and PLO and want to fight to the last Palestinian. Their own generals must be able to tell them they are doomed to fail....or do the Arab rulers fire the capable generals and fill their armies with toadies and yes men?? In many of the middle eastern countries, the generals are the dictators, and wars force the populace to embrace their generals; which in turn gives the generals more power and money. With the exception of Iran; however in Iran, the clerics find the Palestinians a handy reason to hate America. If there were no Palestinian problem, there would be no reason to hate America, and the clerics would lose a lot of influence.

Bill, to continue on this OT: The US supported Israel because USSR supported Egypt and others in the Middle East in the past. Even though USSR is not around anymore the US does not change their foreign policy on a dime. The US still needs friendly territories in the middle-east. Also, all these wars are a boon to the weapons industry both in the US and abroad. Some of the people involved in making the weapons purchases in those countries receive huge bribes so they tend to keep buying more but to buy more you have to use what you have hence all the wars and skirmishes around the world.
