Re: 3/99 - 3/02 [USXP] How one CEO spent three years dealing with "bashers"
By: R_Altomare 30 Mar 1999, 11:55 AM EST Msg. 1168 of 188829 Negative feelings and angry emotions become quite difficult to placate with factual opinion, logic and words.
On this day, I wanted to express my perception of the continual issues some chat room bashers have incessantly repeated since the RS of June 1998.
First, the RS had to be done to prevent the convertible debenture holders from bankrupting, at that time, USXP involuntarily. I know this explanation frustrates those that do not have all of the facts. I and any responsible leader would do it again tomorrow given the same set of facts. I have been continually prosecuting those individuals on behalf of our Stockholders even though a misinformed handful have attacked my character, resolve, intelligence, honesty and resilience during this process.
A second issue: USXP’s Letters of Intent have been ignorantly attached by the same shut-ins that propose to have the answers without all of the facts. Some Letters of Intent get completed. Some do not. Our stock prices was never impacted by our Letter of Intents (LOI). Our LOI’s were filed because of our legal responsibility to inform the public. Nothing more. We would prefer not to have to say anything because market makers also attack and short when they see our financial needs and deadlines. Yet, USXP must sign a LOI before monies can be shopped.
A third issue: Finally today, APAC Members? Not members? Revenues? Our association is a building and developing affinity and it is educating individual store owners of their collective power. Those that criticize the term "member" can examine how magazines, television stations, associations and even census bureaus do their tabulations. Since all dues and expenses have been paid by USXP all of our members are fully paid up. They will become full "members" according to anyone’s interpretation in the years to come.
In conclusion, USXP has 4000+ stockholders. It’s unfortunate that a handful of witty, sarcastic, misinformed chat room writers, who may be employed by those not desirous of our growth, get exposure unnecessarily.
I know the real names and phone numbers of 4 of our most vocal complainers. Their lives and reputations minimize their comments. I will call and visit them when USXP’s success has been achieved and they are still hanging around the neighborhood candy-store long after they should have left and grown-up.
To the 3996 loyal and devoted stockholders, I apologize for wasting my time and yours by even responding to such idiots.
I can’t help caring so very much for USXP, its employees and its dreams that such negative creatures do deserve some of their own medicine.
So bashers, climb out of bed, put on a new housecoat, floss your 4 teeth and re-institute your attacks against me and USXP.
USXP will succeed because we are smarter, more dedicated and our ideals and goals are exemplary.
p.s. Yes, I am arrogant towards ignorance. Arrogance can develop into achievement; ignorance exists forever.

Every quarter or so, I visit the message boards regular "experts" and their postings to see if they have matured or begun to admit that their initial faulty perceptions of USXP might have been incorrect.
Reading some of the observations of self-appointed experts on future trends and their criticism of decisions that had to be made, except, of course, their decision to reappear on a web site with such regularity that they have obsessively developed an emotional need to continue posting, is always enlightening.
Hiding behind call symbols and making more of themselves than if they were disclosed in full bloom, is their addiction.
Fortunately the audience of any message board is limited, but these detractor's venom is painful to those that must read it regularly.
Let us all take solace in the fact that their sword has no handle and they self-inflict wounds upon themselves, their careers and their families, no doubt, with the same smug ignorance and inflexibility and, also, that not one of these detractors has the courage to reveal their true identity with those that they attack and criticize regularly.
We all remember school yard bullies - they never end up successful. Neither will these mean spirited, unsubstantiated, detractors.

By: R_Altomare 22 Sep 2000, 01:36 PM EDT Msg. 4946 of 188832 After reading the quips and jabs of some of our "self appointed expert" critics, I felt I had to respond.
The hostility of a selected few "old timers" seems to always center on this developing company's CEO and our subsidiaries press releases - no matter what positive event is reported.
If I had to go back three years to the RS, I'd have done it again. Because of the situation, we saved USXP to purchase Skynet, and further built the PBC Network. I understand that new concepts, ideas and visions are always belittled by the "Earth is flat""status quo" - I do understand those bashers for their skeptical, mean spirited anonymous postings! We do not share their beliefs, and they do not have to share ours.
Universal Express and its employees, its vision, its dedication and its effort definitely do not deserve the POS initials used by some of these posters.
If you must attack anyone - attack me not the Company. If it makes bashers feel better, attack me. If they feel that the "shorters" have frustrated them - attack me. If they don't understand what our trade association is poised to do -attack me. If they don't accept how hard it's been to establish an International delivery system without a wheelbarrow of money - attack me. If they can't accept that our trading float is not expanding - attack me. If other traders are outsmarting them - attack me.
You know why they attack me anonymously and use ridiculous code names. Because I will never value their parochialism.
Someday the clubhouse chat-room bullies may be forced out from their obscurity. Someday they may realize that they sound like a bunch of stubborn close-minded "old timers" justifying past decisions. Oh, by the way, it's important to note that I researched POS and it is a NYSE Company - thank you for the compliment and realizing that dreams sometimes become reality, certainly more often than close-minded negativity ever finds fulfillment.
I am told my comments only "stir" you up. The purpose of this response was for the mature quiet silent majority that, at times, needs someone to push the bullies back a little.

It is my sincere hope this Holiday Season that those mean spirited "Bashers" who continue to attack me personally announce someday, their former relationship with this company. Those that were arrested for criminal activity, those that were dismissed for sexual harassment or non-performance, or those who ran away when they couldn't achieve what they were hired to achieve have been given a therapeutic opportunity from this board to attack the authority figure that terminated them. They are unfortunately joined by professionals who appear to benefit if our stock price remains the same.
To those supporters, investors, strategic partners, loyal employees and the hundreds of positive phone callers and visitors that we have received throughout the year and as our developing company continues its visionary struggle to claim our rightful place in the transportation industry; we thank-you sincerely for your support, patience, and kind words.
Your observation on our business ideas, our shortcomings, our successes, our goals and future ideas should be the issues openly discussed on these message board spaces.
Those negative and hateful comments directed towards only one individual make this message board uncomfortable and non-productive for thoughtful and honest dialogue.
Despite these facts, my holiday message this year is that someday "our bashers" may satisfy their lack of importance and that they can constructively work on their own dreams, families and plans. I further hope that they may realize that their lives will not be happier by their attempts to inaccurately discredit others.
On behalf of the Company, its employees and its stockholders, we collectively wish our "bashers" LOL (Lots of Love) to you POS (Poor Old Souls). May you share CHEERS and even SIPCHAMPAGNE with well adjusted adults this Holiday Season.
May you only speak of and honor our real King and forget the "Kings" and "Devils" that you have artificially created (as appreciative of the unearned titles that I have been given).
May you PUMP yourselves up this season and DUMP your ignorance and negativity.
Should this message board be closed next year by the Company's request or as a result of litigation against inaccurate posters, our "Bashers" can pick up next years COAL MESSAGE DISTRIBUTION at hopefully our Super Bowl Suite.
Richard A. Altomare
P.S. Since many times our message is buried by hateful responses, it will be re-sent after every idiotic response.

With the enjoyment of certain bashers over our typist’s misspelling of bullion, I’ve thought creatively and outside the box about a “basher bouillon” soup. What would it really be made up of?
First, it should be filled with at least 10 ounces each of negativity, jealousy, anger, disappointment, greed and a greater amount of selfishness and bile.
Secondly, it can’t be heated, it has to be very, very cold. It can be served with a pound each of sarcasm, contempt and even hatred.
Most importantly, we should never forget that Basher’s Bouillon enjoys the dark and detests the sunlight. Therefore, it should be kept in the darkest recesses of your attic basement or mind.
Basher Bouillon goes well with certain dishes and certain occasions. It is excellent with tragedy, disappointment or even simple development. It is best served at funerals, job setbacks, family tragedies or just rainy days.
If you serve it with crow, sunshine, optimism, hopes, dreams or new ideas, it will evaporate like the witch from the Wizard of Oz. Nevertheless, by knowing the ingredients inside of Basher Bouillon one can live a much fuller and more productive life by neither owning, storing, using or listening to the ingredients.
Then and only then will the gold bullion of life find you.

By: R_Altomare 21 Sep 2001, 09:37 AM EDT Msg. 94212 of 188836 With the recent flurry of activity on this message board, I have decided that such aggressive postings must be addressed. How about a contest? Universal Express will invite poster #100,000 (yes 100,000 – that’s how many comments are being send over phone lines onto this young company’s message board) with an all expense paid trip to USXP Headquarters and dinner with me for a three hour documented interview. The twist will be that USXP will conduct the Interview of the winner because we are fascinated at the day to day obsessive interest in our young developing company on Raging Bull and the sometimes-redundant comments. The only eligibility will be that the winner is a bonafide stockholder.
In the event that we must go beyond post # 130,000 before we can find an eligible winner that is a stockholder – we will then extend the contest to post #200,000, which should be by next Tuesday after this posting.
The desire to be heard should be proportionate to what new information one has to say. After a while, like a soap opera, one should step away from any message board. You won’t miss much except the endless bickering over nothing that the fully paid bashers participants can influence or have all the facts understand.
At times we all can over analyze and miss the obvious. Let the contest begin! I look forward to the interview and having dinner with one of our loyal stockholders.
p.s. I heard that once again my questionable character and military history are being attacked by some of our paid bashers on this message board. Once again they are wrong and the issue is simply irrelevant to USXP and not worthy of a response.

Dear Message Board Participants,
Since USXP's cash flow has continued to improve over the past few months, USXP would like to offer a $1,000.00 contest for our message board enthusiasts and regulars.
Whether you are a regular (3000 posts or more), or only a visitor, I'm sure that certain characters and personalities have been somewhat type-casted over the past few years for you.
Basher or Supporter; Professional or every day poster; Lover or Hater; Mother of RAA or ex-wife of RAA - you certainly have proved your creativity and strong feelings.
The Contest: Imagine and create a USXP Secret Advisory Board Meeting in the future with RAA and at least 5 of your favorite (or not so favorite) posters.
Minimum word requirement 3,500 words, that's about .04 per word for obvious reasons. Next year it will probably be a 500 word contest, but that's another story.
USXP's Technical Advisor, 2 PR firm representatives and RAA himself will judge the contest.
With almost 200,000 posts and countless hours spent away from primary jobs, families, friends and TV; there must be a story or a sitcom concept here. It's only a thousand dollars, but you will become the first message board participant in America that accomplished something of value by being on a message board.
Frankly, it is a medium many of us do not understand or embrace. Nevertheless, it continues. So, let's attempt to legitimatize this by using the "outside the box" philosophy of USXP.
Good Luck - Grab your pens, pencils (or crayons) and begin, contest ends on April 1st (yes, I know).
Submit to webmaster@usxp.com

P.S. - all content becomes the property of Universal Express, Inc. (USXP) upon submission and you agree to hold Universal Express, harmless in it's use, and give up all rights to it's content, structure, characters, and story line. Universal Express reserves the right to distribute this material freely and in any fashion it so desires.
