I think the Sprint PCS signal is OK, though ours didn't work right in the middle of Queens, unless I walked out of the hotel and a hundred yards out into the parking lot--and even there it would drop the signal. Also, there was no service at all in Columbia, South Carolina, the capitol of the state, when we were there.

My problems have been more with the long distance and with customer service--and just with a continuing experience of unpleasant billing surprises in all their divisions.

I was quite pleased with AT&T prepaid until late last year when they suddenly announced that unless you added prepaid time every 45 days you would lose everything you had. Prior to that, and when I signed on, it had been 90 days. But we have used the AT&T clear across the country and except in some areas of Montana and Idaho you could always get a signal that brought you into their system. Even worked in Alaska.
