I'm not dodging or ignoring anything.

The Canadian Medical Association is entitled to its opinion. You offered their opinion as justification for the U.S. to change its policy, unless I misread you. I don't think that's sufficient justification, and you offered nothing but their conclusion. Is that supposed to convince everybody else? Sorry, doesn't work for me.

I heard the tail end of Dr. Dean Edell's discussion on the radio a few days ago, discussing some new research on marijuana that concerned him. Daily marijuana smokers were asked to stop for two days, then smoke for two days, and repeat the cycle a few times. On the days they didn't smoke, they were irritable, had eating and sleep disorders, and nightmares. More research needs to be done before passing it off as harmless.

Remember, tobacco was believed to be harmless for a long time.
