Dell lost 1/3 of its business in servers, notebooks and desktops! OUCH!
And all that in the space of just a single month… makes you wonder how much these figures normally fluctuate.

Vendors Feb‘02 Jan ‘02 Feb ‘01 M/M Yr/Yr

(Notebook)
Compaq 30% 18% 19% 66.70% 57.90%
Dell 14% 21% 14% -33.30% 0.00%

(Desktop)
Dell 15% 22% 26% -31.80% -42.30%
Compaq 10% 12% 16% -16.70% -37.50%

(Servers)
Compaq 30% 18% 19% 66.70% 57.90%
Dell 14% 21% 14% -33.30% 0.00%
The strong Compaq numbers makes you wonder how much Compaq really needs to be bought out by HP… especially when you consider HP's market share (which I didn't include above, but is 7%, 4% and 4% for notebooks, desktops and servers, respectively).
