Great post. Something else, Bush wants $10 billion of the $394 billion 2003 defense fund at his personal disposal for some "emergency response fund". Not even the GOP is buying this one. Bush is currently regrouping to come up with an acceptable spin to secure this private slush fund. users.rcn.com

If Dubya used his influence to get a bill passed that would require auto makers to make their vehicles only 3 MPG more fuel efficient it would save us more energy than we will get from drilling in ANWAR. The question is why doesn't he do this? The answer is because the amount of campaign donations he could garner from the increase in fuel efficiency is dwarfed by the amount he gets by not doing this. He cares more about himself and his right wing buddies than he has ever cared for the public.

I may be mistaken about the following and I am not going to look it up but didn't the republicans recently rollback fuel efficiency laws so that car makers don't have to make their vehicles more fuel efficient?

"I think it's sadder how much you have to lie about this...."

The entire demo-libeal strategy summed up nicely. Why does it only bother you if the other side lies (although this looks more like you are lying about a lie)?

Yes Steal the oil from the American people

Hmmmmn, I believe I’d like my share in the foreseeable future. Now who can I hire to drill, refine and deliver? Nader? Some combination of the parasitic morons who sit in congress? Some twit who posts your kind of idiotic and infantile blather on SI?

No, I suspect it best be some combination of companies who have expertise in getting me the fuel. And the less baksheesh they have to build in to their price at the pump, the better off I’ll be.
