"I was refering primarily the event history, and to a lesser extent a record of police calls about the abuse"

How long is the long record of domestic abuse as recorded in the police calls you are referring to? Is the length of the police record on the abuse predictive of the likelihood of murder, or is it merely an associated statistic?

Those police calls do not always result in charges let alone convictions

In Canada there is a zero tolerance policy. They always result in charges except where the police break the law and use common sense.

"Often enough such murderers do have convictions or at least more then one abuse charge, but I am not sufficently confident that the statement "usually there is a long record of domestic abuse charges (or convictions) before the murder in such cases"."

I didn't follow that, Tim. If it is not important, just ignore...
