Nadine... Again.. I think we share many of the same opinons regarding the cultural and social dynamic involved here on both sides.

Unfortunately, certain steps are required in order to place the onus upon the Arabs and show them as the aggressors they have been since Israel's independence.

And one of these is to remove the issue of being an "occupier" (rightly or wrongly) from the equation, so that further violence can be obviously referred to as unjustifiable.

And then Israel needs to strongly point out the responsibility of the UN and International community towards maintaining their security. They will have to react, lest Israel do what they've always done in the past... preserve their own security.

This is a process that has to occur, Nadine.. You and I know that cultural, economic, and demographic trends probably will render this peace ineffective and temporary over time. This may be a "munich" style event, but it's a step that has to occur before we are all convinced that maybe there's something other than the occupation of the West Bank at work here.
