I think God-belief is exactly on a par, rationally, with Jove-belief, gremlin-belief and fairy-belief. I despise no one for holding any of those beliefs. If those who believe agnosticism is more rational than atheism will state that they are agnostic about the existence of Jove, gremlins and fairies, the non-existence of which are equally not provable, I will join them in happy (in fact merry) agnosticism, for purposes of discussion with them here. I guess you mean me. You said "God-belief" with a capital G. I take that to mean you're talking about the specific deity of the Bible. If so, I don't find it unreasonable to lump it (Him) together with fairies and gremlins for dismissal. However, I don't think that there's any way any human can say that there is no deity at all, some entity totally beyond our view and our comprehension, that created the world. We can't know. Which leaves agnosticism, it seems to me. Karen
