LOL! That seems obvious enough. So you are not arguing against all punishment. You are arguing against the death penalty. I have heard that the grave is the general meeting place for investigating and solving injustice in the streets. I am waiting for the opportunity to get compensation for a baseball which broke my mirror for which they have not responded to my first letter, effectively ending my chances until I get to the cemetery...

Thank you E. Both for the compliment and for expanding my vocabulary (I had to look up perspicacious :)

where sloppy or corrupt or discriminatory punishment is inevitable,

death is different.

I probably agree with you as far as sloppy punishment, meaning punishment that is not careful and is to likely to convict the wrong person.

Which of course leaves us with questions like - How careful do we have to be to be sufficiently careful and not sloppy? and How careful are the various jurisdictions in the US at this time in capital cases?

I think you might have one opinion about these two questions. Laz or JC might have another. Mine might be somewhere in between which might be the biggest reason why Laz and JC are for the death penalty, you are against, and I am pulling out splinters that I got from being on the fence for so long.
